| Mangoes (Mangifera Indica)
Mangoes whose tree interestingly belongs to the same family as the poison ivy, grows in India where more that three quarters of the world’s mangoes come from, as well as in the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.
It is said that Lord Buddha was given a mango grove where he could find cool and shady repose and since then, mango flowers and fruits have been incorporated into certain ceremonies of Theravada Buddhism
Today, several varieties of mangoes are dried in the Philippines, South Africa and Thailand.
Mangoes, also called King of the fruits, are high in Vitamin A and C.
